stardust

stardust
i hold
a galaxy between
my palms
the heat makes my
rings melt
and the black holes
suckle at my fingertips
and lap up the molten silver
that runs through the
crevices of my hands
extraordinary stars and planets
shine through the void
of the foggy edges
each a slightly different
color, unique,
and the hues blur and blend
together as i trace lines between
constellations with my eyes
i watch as the stars implode
and meteors streak
through the ethereal
leaving a flowing trail
that cools the orb i hold
like an ice cube dropped into
a steaming cup of tea
and all i am left with
is a stinging cheek,
fingers tipped with blue
and for a moment
the world is at peace
